Isomaltulose is a natural constituent of honey and sugar cane and has a very natural sweet taste. Isomaltulose is particularly suitable as a non-cariogenic sucrose replacement and is favorable in products for diabetics and prediabetic dispositions.
Like sucrose, Isomaltulose is fully digested and provides the same caloric value of approximately 4 kcal/g. Unlike sucrose, Isomaltulose is toothfriendly and digested much slower leading not only to a low glycemic response but as well to a prolonged glucose supply. Thus, Isomaltulose is a slowly released carbohydrate that therefore provides a more sustained energy supply from food and drinks. An optimal energy supply is a topic of increasing importance in research and product development as this may play a role in health as well as for physical and mental performance.   
Isomaltulose is odorless, white, crystalline substance which contains 1 molecular water in it. When losing the water, it dose not appear crystalline shape. Isomaltulose is 42% as sweet as cane sugar and wont change with temperature. Isomaltulose can be used in beverage, candy, cake and vintage industry. Isomaltulose has the same calorie as cane sugar so that it can maintain the peak of blood sugar in a long time. Therefore, Isomaltulose is suitable for athletes and students.

Function:
1 Isomaltulose will not be absorbed by the stomach, but the sucrose will be. Taking the sucrose will cause the blood sugar level to be high in a short time. But the isomaltulose is absorbed by the intestine slowly,  which will not cause significantly higher level of blood sugar. Isomaltulose is good edible sugar for the people with and without diabetes, mellitus (potential) and people who pay attention to their health.

2 Does not cause decayed teeth and cavities, have protection effect.
Isomaltulose cannot be used by microbes in oral cavity to produce insoluble glucose. Therefore,  this won't cause dental plaque, decayed teeth and periodontal disease.When the contacts with dental plaque which is already present happens, Isomaltulose can prevent its PH lower,  prevent tooth decay. When the contacts with plaque happens, Isomaltulose can prevent the pH value lower than 5.5, so it couldn't cause cavities. Isomaltulose itself  not only does not cause tooth decay, but also can inhibite tooth decay caused by sucrose .

3 No fat accumulation

Generally, taking sugar alcohol over 30g will cause diarrhea. Based on human trials, taking Isomaltulose directly over 80g, doesn't cause diarrhea.
